The 9th Ping An Century Quality Engineering Exchange Conference was held in Guangdong
Guangdong expressway reconstruction and expansion projects focus on quality engineering construction, with BIM smart construction and green innovation improving efficiency On-site observation of the Guangzhou-Zhaoqing-Guangyun Expressway, viewing 12 achievements and safety management highlights
The 9th Ping'an CenturyLong Quality Project Exchange Conference opened on the 22nd in Guangzhou. The conference focused on the expansion and reconstruction projects of the GuangzhouZhaoqing and GuangzhouYunfu expressways, which are under construction in Guangdong, and showcased 12 quality project creation achievements. Nearly 600 representatives from the national transportation industry attended the conference, and they will visit related observation sites for field inspections before the 23rd.
Reports show that by the end of 2025, the total mileage of expressways in Guangdong had exceeded 12,000 kilometers, ranking first nationwide for 12 consecutive years. With regional economic development, demand for expressway expansion and reconstruction around the Pearl River Delta has continued to grow, making the GuangzhouZhaoqing and GuangzhouYunfu expressway projects one of Guangdong's key transportation infrastructure projects during the 14th FiveYear Plan.
During construction, the projects adopted a "traffic flow maintained while construction proceeds" model, and advanced technological innovation around challenges such as superlarge bridge construction, complex traffic organization, and safety management. Among them, the newly built Jinma Bridge introduced a BIMbased digital intelligent construction platform, enabling 3D component modeling and unified management of progress, quality, and safety. The smart beam yard in the GuangzhouYunfu project is also connected to multiple monitoring systems and AI hazard identification functions, improving construction precision and safety. At the same time, the projects used hot inplant recycling technology to recover and reuse waste asphalt materials, reducing carbon emissions. The GuangzhouZhaoqing project also established an industrial worker training center to provide frontline workers with training, assessment, and certification services.
