The National Flood Control Headquarters maintains a Level IV emergency response for flood control in Zhejiang, Fujian and other areas

On June 14, the National Flood Control Headquarters announced that it would continue to maintain a Level IV flood control emergency response for Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi, while terminating the Level IV response for Guizhou. The National Flood Control Headquarters Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management, after holding consultations with multiple departments that day, made the above arrangements and continued to send working groups to the front lines in Guangdong and Fujian to assist with guidance. The consultation concluded that over the next two days, the area from southern Jiangnan to South China will still experience持续 heavy rainfall, with particularly noticeable nighttime rain and significant cumulative precipitation. Extreme weather may occur in some local areas, and the flood control risk remains high. Relevant departments require localities to further tighten flood control responsibilities and strengthen inspections and hazard removal in key infrastructure, dangerous sections of levees, mountain flood and geological disaster risk areas, and urban and rural waterloggingprone spots. At the same time, localities are required to strengthen coordination between forecasting and warning systems and emergency response, improve the mechanism for directly delivering imminent disaster warnings to the grassroots level and obtaining feedback, and重点做好 the evacuation and risk avoidance of personnel in mountainous areas, along small and mediumsized river sections, and downstream of small and mediumsized reservoirs, with special attention to elderly people, children, patients, pregnant women, and other key groups.
