Tibet Gyirong mudslide rescue: The Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched national teams across regions to monitor the risk of the landslide-dammed lake Slope radar and drones continue inspections to support rescue operations and obtain the latest progress
After a mudslide disaster occurred in Jilong County, Xigaze City, Tibet, the Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched national work safety emergency rescue teams to provide crossregional support, assisting local authorities in carrying out rescue operations and risk monitoring.
On September 1, three teams — the National Work Safety Emergency Rescue Survey Team, the China Communications Construction Chongqing Team of the National Tunnel Emergency Rescue Force, and the Tibet Team of China Railway No. 2 Bureau of the National Tunnel Emergency Rescue Force — formed a joint monitoring group. Equipped with slope radar, drones, life detectors, and other devices, they continued monitoring the dam body, the landslide mass on the south bank, and the mountain terrain at the bend in the downstream gully at the debrisdammed lake site at Jilong Port.
Relevant monitoring work is still ongoing, with the aim of timely understanding changes in the debrisdammed lake and surrounding geology, and providing support for subsequent rescue and safety response.
