A Level IV emergency response for geological disasters has been activated, with Jiangxi and Hunan guarding against the risks of heavy rainfall from the typhoon. Strengthen monitoring, early warning, and evacuation to safer areas, and stay informed of the latest disaster prevention advisories in a timely manner
On July 25, the Ministry of Emergency Management announced the activation of a Level IV national geological disaster emergency response for Jiangxi and Hunan. This response was arranged based on the risk of heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon No. 12 of this year, "Hongxia," and its outer circulation.
According to consultations and assessments by the meteorological and natural resources departments, from July 25 to 27, southern Jiangxi, eastern Hunan, and other areas will experience heavy rainstorms, with localized extremely heavy rainfall possible. The risk of geological disasters is relatively high in southwestern Jiangxi and southeastern Hunan. The Ministry of Emergency Management has urged the relevant regions to strengthen monitoring of rainfall and flood conditions, warning coordination, patrols and inspections, and evacuation to safe areas, and to preposition rescue forces, supplies, and equipment in advance to minimize casualties.
At present, the Ministry of Emergency Management is still maintaining a Level IV national geological disaster emergency response for Guangdong and Fujian.
