The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility is the first mediumenergy thirdgeneration synchrotron radiation source on the Chinese mainland. Since opening to users in 2009, it has developed into one of the country’s major largescale scientific facilities. By the end of 2025, it had supported users in completing about 30,000 experimental projects and published about 17,000 papers, covering many fields such as biomedicine, new materials, and semiconductors.
