Central and state organs hold a special report session on the "Hundred Cases, Hundred Lectures" environmental code event

Beijing, July 23 — On the 23rd, a special lecture session for central and state organs was held in Beijing as part of the 2026 “Hundred Legal Scholars, Hundred Lectures” ruleoflaw publicity campaign, with the theme “Implementing the Ecological Environment Code.” Wang Hongxiang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice President of the China Law Society, said that the “Double Hundred” campaign is an important brand for ruleoflaw publicity, and that public education on laws and regulations closely related to the public should be strengthened. The Ecological Environment Code, which is set to take effect on August 15, is regarded as an important achievement in implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, and related publicity and implementation work needs to be continuously advanced. Huang Wei, Deputy Director of the Commission for Legislative Affairs of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, pointed out in her report that the Ecological Environment Code is China's second law named as a code after the Civil Code, marking the entry of ecological and environmental ruleoflaw development into the codification stage. She said that supporting provisions still need to be improved, law enforcement training strengthened, and learning and publicity promoted across society. The lecture session was jointly organized by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, the Working Committee of the CPC Central Committee and State Organs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, and the China Law Society. More than 700 people attended, including cadres from central and state organs as well as teachers and students from some universities in Beijing.
