At 20:00 on July 23, China successfully launched Tianlian II06 into its designated orbit using a Long March 3B carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, and the launch mission was successfully completed.
According to reports, Tianlian II06 was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It primarily provides data relay and tracking, telemetry, and command services for crewed spacecraft such as spacecraft and space stations, as well as for resource satellites in medium and lowEarth orbit. It also supports tracking, telemetry, and command operations during the launch phase of spacecraft.
Relay satellites are often called "satellites of satellites" because they can help spacecraft transmit onorbit data back to Earth in real time, improving mission efficiency and emergency response capabilities. As China's space missions increase, the related relay satellite systems are also continuously expanding. This launch further enhanced the coverage and service effectiveness of the spacebased data relay network.
