Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 29 The State Council executive meeting reviewed and approved the National Health "15th FiveYear Plan" that day. The meeting made arrangements around building a Healthy China and the work on national health over the next five years.
The report noted that in recent years, China’s medical services, disease prevention and control, and health insurance systems have continued to improve, and the average life expectancy has reached 79.25 years, with major health indicators ranking among the top of uppermiddleincome countries. Experts believe that this plan will provide a basis for the goals, tasks, and implementation path of national health work during the "15th FiveYear" period.
The meeting proposed building a health service system covering the entire life cycle, strengthening coordination among medical services, health insurance, disease prevention and control, and other areas, and improving the continuity and accessibility of services. At the same time, it called for developing the health industry, improving support policies, expanding the supply of health products, and strengthening quality and safety regulation to meet the public’s demand for highquality health services.
