Two departments urgently allocate 430 million yuan to support emergency rescue and disaster relief in 10 provincial-level regions
4.3 billion yuan in disaster relief funds for flood and typhoon prevention has been urgently allocated to support emergency rescue and relief efforts in 10 provincial-level regions. Guangxi has received additional support, with funds going directly to resettlement, repair, and hazard remediation to ensure public safety.
On July 14, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently allocated 430 million yuan in central disaster relief funds for natural disasters, to support 10 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, including Guangxi, Zhejiang, Hebei, Liaoning, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Sichuan, in flood and typhoon prevention, emergency response, and disaster relief.
Among them, Guangxi received additional support on top of the advance funds it had previously been granted, with a focus on resettling affected residents, providing transitional living assistance, and repairing damaged or collapsed homes, helping disasterstricken areas restore normal production and daily life as soon as possible. The funds for the other nine provinces and municipalities will be used for emergency response work such as search and rescue, relocating and resettling affected people, removing hazards and dangers, and investigating and addressing risks of secondary disasters.
The two departments require the relevant local finance departments to allocate the funds as soon as possible and strengthen oversight of their use, ensuring that all disaster relief funds are used for disasterstricken areas and affected people, and safeguarding the safety of people's lives and property.
