Sichuan unveils the West's first power grid emergency rescue technical support team

The power grid emergency rescue technical support team in western China has been established, strengthening disaster assessment and emergency response support 40 technical backbones equipped with drone radar to improve post-disaster response efficiency and help quickly restore power supply

On June 5, the Western region's first comprehensive power grid emergency rescue technical support team was officially unveiled and established in Chengdu, Sichuan. The team is made up of 40 crossdisciplinary technical backbone members and primarily takes on tasks such as power disaster assessment, emergency repair plan preparation, and technical support for power emergencies, aiming to fill the gap in specialized power grid emergency technical capability in western China. The report said that Sichuan has complex geological and climatic conditions, with frequent disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, floods, and ice and snow events, and many power grid facilities are also located in highrisk areas. Drawing on the technical accumulation of China Power Construction Sichuan Electric Power Design Consulting Co., Ltd. in remote sensing mapping, geological surveying, hydrological assessment, and power engineering, the local area has formed this dedicated support team. This team can conduct daily work such as disaster loss surveys, 3D modeling, facility safety assessments, and postdisaster reconstruction planning. It can also quickly participate in onsite surveys, damage assessments, emergency repair design, and reconstruction planning during the emergency phase, and provide technical support for sudden incidents in other industries. The team is also equipped with UAV aerial surveying, LiDAR, geological exploration equipment, and unmanned boats, improving the specialization and efficiency of disaster response.
