On August 2, the 3rd Radar Frontier Academic Conference opened in Changsha, with 8 academicians and more than 1,200 representatives from universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the radar and related fields in attendance. Lei Yongjun, president of the National University of Defense Technology, and Wu Yirong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
The main forum of the conference invited several academicians and experts to give presentations on cuttingedge topics such as satellite radar constellations, crossdomain airsea wireless communication, intelligent integration development, and radio astronomy, introducing the latest research progress and technological innovations. The opening ceremony also released scientific datasets in the radar frontier field and launched an initiative for a data innovation alliance to promote the construction of highquality datasets and the sharing of scientific data.
This year's conference, themed "Perception Empowerment, New Domains and New Quality," features 1 main forum, 11 subforums, and more than 100 special reports, while also establishing a Young Scientists Forum to provide a platform for exchange for young researchers. The conference is jointly hosted by the School of Electronic Science of the National University of Defense Technology and the Journal of Radar.
