Tunnel, high-speed rail, and wind power projects advance, unveiling a new landscape for regional development
National Day engineering construction and new line operations are accelerating, with infrastructure in many places driving growth in transportation, tourism, and consumption See how cross-river tunnels, high-speed rail, and offshore wind power are activating new momentum for regional development
During the National Day holiday period, the construction of multiple major projects and the operation of new railway lines were being advanced simultaneously across many parts of the country, involving areas such as crossriver tunnels, highspeed rail, and offshore wind power, showcasing new changes in infrastructure development driving regional growth.
In Jiangsu, construction of the Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel is continuing. This road underwater shield tunnel, connecting Haimen in Nantong and Taicang in Suzhou, is 11.185 kilometers long. It is highly difficult to build and involves significant risks. At present, both tunnel sections have reached critical stretches, and the project is scheduled to be basically completed by 2028. Once completed, the project will further improve crossriver travel efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta.
In Heilongjiang, after the Heha HighSpeed Railway officially opened, Yichun welcomed more tourists, driving growth in local industries such as car rentals, homestays, catering, and specialty product sales. At the same time, the concentrated opening of new lines such as the Xiongshang HighSpeed Railway, the Xikang HighSpeed Railway, the Yixing HighSpeed Railway, and the Heha HighSpeed Railway has also activated cultural and tourism consumption as well as economies along the routes in many places.
In Pingtan, Fujian, offshore and onshore wind power facilities are not only continuously supplying green electricity, but have also become popular checkin spots for tourists during the holiday. Local authorities have launched more cultural and tourism products centered on the "windmill" scenery, promoting the integration of energy facilities with the tourism experience and creating new consumption scenarios.
