On September 21, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently allocated 200 million yuan in central natural disaster relief funds to support Sichuan, Hainan, Zhejiang, and Fujian provinces in carrying out emergency rescue and disaster relief work for floods and geological disasters.
According to reports, many places in southern China have recently experienced continuous heavy rainfall, with some areas seeing particularly intense precipitation, which has triggered floods and geological disasters and caused casualties and damage to houses. This funding will be mainly used for the resettlement of affected people, removal of hazards and elimination of risks, living assistance during the transition period, and repair of collapsed and damaged rural homes, so as to safeguard the basic living needs of affected residents.
Relevant departments said the move is intended to help disasterstricken areas restore production and daily life order as soon as possible.
