Mongolian President Khurelsukh Meets Wang Yi
China-Mongolia relations deepen cooperation, with connectivity, energy and minerals, and the digital economy advancing comprehensively Wang Yi's visit to Mongolia strengthens strategic mutual trust, helping bilateral relations steadily warm and multilateral cooperation progress
On June 13, 2026, Mongolian President Khurelsukh met in Ulaanbaatar with visiting Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Khurelsukh asked Wang Yi to convey his greetings to President Xi Jinping, and said that Mongolia attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to continue promoting the development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. He emphasized that the Mongolian side adheres to the oneChina principle, opposes any form of “Taiwan independence,” and said it would not harm China’s interests because of its relations with other countries.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping’s greetings and said that the Chinese side has always placed the development of ChinaMongolia relations in an important position in its neighborhood diplomacy. The two sides agreed to continue strengthening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation, and to advance cooperation in areas such as connectivity, energy and minerals, trade and investment, green development, and the digital economy, while also enhancing coordination on multilateral platforms such as ChinaRussiaMongolia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. During the visit, Wang Yi will also meet with Mongolian Prime Minister Uchral and hold talks with Foreign Minister Battsetseg.
