On the 2nd (local time), all three major U.S. stock indexes on the New York Stock Exchange closed higher after four trading sessions. It is interpreted that investor sentiment partially recovered as dipbuying focused on recently declining stocks, and the sharp rise in U.S. Treasury yields also eased somewhat.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 53,061.95, up 295.07 points from the previous session, the S&P 500 rose 35.13 points to 7,666.60, and the Nasdaq Composite ended trading up 118.05 points at 26,217.83.
The yield on the 10year U.S. Treasury note rose to as high as 4.821% during the session, the highest level since November 2023, but later pared its gains and fell below 4.8%. The 30year yield stood at 5.266%, and the 2year yield was 4.383%.
By stock, Dell surged 15.81% after raising its earnings outlook, reflecting increased demand for AI servers. Nvidia, Micron, and Qualcomm also rose, and SK Hynix's American Depositary Receipt (ADR) likewise gained. The market also watched comments on monetary policy by John Williams, president of the New York Federal Reserve, as well as the contents of the Fed's Beige Book. International oil prices rose for the third consecutive trading day amid concerns over a possible clash between the United States and Iran.
