Kyrgyz President Japarov meets Wang Yi
China-Kyrgyzstan relations continue to warm, promoting deeper and more substantive cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, and cultural exchanges Focusing on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the SCO summit, expanding new opportunities for practical cooperation
On July 24, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov met with visiting Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister, in CholponAta. The two sides exchanged views on topics including ChinaKyrgyzstan relations, practical cooperation, and multilateral coordination.
Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan regards its relationship with China as a diplomatic priority and is willing to continue deepening cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, and cultural and peopletopeople exchange, as well as promote the construction of major projects such as the ChinaKyrgyzstanUzbekistan railway. He also said that Kyrgyzstan supports China in safeguarding its core interests and is willing to strengthen coordination within the framework of the United Nations, the ChinaCentral Asia mechanism, and other platforms.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings and said that China will continue to support Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and support Kyrgyzstan in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions. Wang Yi also pointed out that China is willing to strengthen alignment of development strategies with Kyrgyzstan, expand cultural and peopletopeople exchanges, and support Kyrgyzstan in successfully hosting the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Bishkek Summit. During the visit, Wang Yi also held talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kulubaev and attended the unveiling ceremony for the reopening of the Chinese Consulate General in Osh.
