Two departments deploy measures to strengthen the management of emergency rescue and disaster relief materials

On July 3, the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a special meeting to study and promote the management of emergency rescue and disaster relief supplies. The meeting was chaired by Chen Min, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and was attended by relevant departments from multiple ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance, as well as from Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Hunan, and other regions. The meeting noted that in recent years, China's emergency supply guarantee system has continued to improve, having gradually shifted from decentralized management to overall coordination, and from extensive support to precise and efficient support, playing an important role in disaster and accident response. However, in the face of a complex disaster situation, some regions still have shortcomings in supply management. The meeting required all localities and departments to further strengthen accountability, overcome complacency and a false sense of luck, and address weaknesses in systems and implementation around links such as reserves, allocation, and management. At the same time, efforts should be made to expand diversified reserve channels, improve information sharing and the construction of the "one integrated network" platform, establish a longterm management mechanism covering the entire life cycle of supplies, enhance emergency rescue and disaster relief support capabilities, and better safeguard the safety of life and property for people in disasterstricken areas.
