Trot singer Sookhaeng has lost the first trial of a lawsuit seeking damages against a homewrecker.
On the 17th, the Seongnam branch of Suwon District Court's Civil Division 7, sitting alone, ruled partially in favor of the plaintiff in a damages lawsuit filed by A against Sookhaeng. As a result, Sookhaeng is reported to have lost in the first trial.
This lawsuit was filed in September last year by A, who claimed that there had been an inappropriate relationship between Sookhaeng and her husband. The related details were later made public in December through a broadcast report, and the controversy continued with CCTV footage released at the time and statements from the parties involved.
Sookhaeng's side said she began dating after the other man explained that his marriage was in the process of being resolved, and that she ended the relationship after learning the truth. Following the controversy, Sookhaeng stepped down from the program she had been appearing on and suspended her activities.
