378 Cross-Strait Common Standards Have Been Implemented

On July 15 in Beijing, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said that over the past two years, 378 common standards jointly developed and implemented by both sides of the Taiwan Strait have been put in place, covering multiple fields including industry, trade, and culture. Spokesperson Zhu Fenglian said that this work on common standards is an important part of Fujian's efforts to build a demonstration zone for integrated crossstrait development. Since 2023, relevant departments have promoted the “soft connectivity” of standards, reducing barriers in the circulation of goods and technical cooperation through mechanisms such as joint topic selection, comparison, development, and application. She also mentioned that 75 pilot projects are currently being advanced, some of which have already achieved application results in Taiwan; meanwhile, Fujian has introduced local regulations to promote common crossstrait standards and has built a service platform to provide information services such as standard comparison for businesses and institutions on both sides of the Strait.
