Son Heung-min falters in high-altitude away match…LAFC misses out on reaching the final

LAFC, led by Son Heungmin, suffered a heavy defeat in an away match at Toluca's high altitude in Mexico, failing to advance to the Concacaf Champions Cup final. The match was held on the 7th (Korea time) at Nemesio Diez Stadium in Toluca. LAFC lost 04 to Toluca in the second leg of the semifinals, and was eliminated after falling 25 on aggregate over the first and second legs. Son Heungmin played the full 90 minutes but did not record a single shot, and he received the lowest rating on the team after a mistake near the end of the match that led to a goal. Toluca used the home advantage of its 2,670mhigh altitude to pressure LAFC throughout the match with a high volume of shots. LAFC held on in the first half, but collapsed in the second half as physical stamina and concentration declined, and with a sendingoff also added to the problem, they were unable to mount a comeback. This match also once again highlighted the national team's need to adapt to highaltitude conditions ahead of the World Cup to be held next month.
