China and Canada Hold the Third High-Level Dialogue on National Security and Rule of Law

China and Canada held their third HighLevel Dialogue on National Security and the Rule of Law in Beijing on July 22, with both sides exchanging views on issues including combating transnational crime, counterterrorism, drug control, and cooperation on immigration enforcement. The dialogue was cochaired by Yin Bai, SecretaryGeneral of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and Morrison, Senior Advisor to the Canadian Prime Minister on Foreign and International Affairs. The Chinese side said it is willing to work with the Canadian side to implement the cooperation consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries in the field of security and continue to leverage the role of this dialogue mechanism. Both sides also said they will strengthen cooperation in areas such as national security, law enforcement, and judicial affairs, and promote the development of the new strategic partnership between the two countries. Relevant personnel from the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of State Security attended the dialogue.
