The Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency has booked 35 people without detention for illegally booking large quantities of professional baseball and concert tickets using internet macros and directlink programs, then selling them as scalped tickets. According to the police investigation, a salaried worker in his 30s, identified as A, secured about 6,000 tickets for popular team games and concerts by famous singers such as Lim Youngwoong, BTS, Psy, and Sung Sikyung from last September until recently, and resold them for 1.5 to 5 times the face value. A's total sales amounted to 530 million won, and his net profit is believed to have reached 390 million won. Those caught in this case included not only office workers but also civil servants, career soldiers, university students, and homemakers. The police expanded the investigation by first arresting the macro creator and then tracing the buyers in reverse, and they are using the analysis results of the secured program and sharing them with ticketing companies to strengthen security.
