BGF Networks, which operates CU convenience store parcel delivery services, has confirmed signs of a user personal information leak. The company said on the 6th that it had identified unauthorized access to its system by an unidentified hacker on the 4th. The information confirmed to have been leaked included names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, gender, user IDs, parts of passwords, and CI (Connecting Information), among others. BGF Networks explained that it blocked the attacking IP and completed security measures, and reported the incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The company advised users to change their password if they use the same one on other sites as well, and to avoid clicking links contained in phone calls or text messages from unknown sources.
