The 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology Holds Its Second Plenary Session

The second plenary session of the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 8. Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting to offer congratulations and delivered a speech on behalf of the Party Central Committee. In his speech, Cai Qi said that we should thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on technological innovation and the work of the Association for Science and Technology, and promote the continuous forward development of science and technology and the work of the Association for Science and Technology in the new era. He pointed out that since the 20th National Congress of the Party, China's science and technology workers have achieved a series of important results in innovation, and the China Association for Science and Technology system has also played a positive role in serving science and technology workers and promoting highlevel selfreliance and selfstrengthening in science and technology. Cai Qi also stressed that the "15th FiveYear Plan" period is an important stage in building a strong nation in science and technology, and he hopes that the vast number of science and technology workers will continue to firmly uphold the aspiration to serve the country through science and technology, shoulder the mission of innovation, promote open cooperation, and play a greater role in the new journey of building China into a science and technology powerhouse. Responsible officials from relevant departments, representatives from the science and technology community, and delegates to the 11th Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology attended the meeting.
