Maritime authorities escort a very large foreign vessel to Guangzhou for repairs

Guangzhou maritime authorities ensured the safety of a very large foreign vessel entering the port, escorting the Karskrona to arrive smoothly By assessing risks in advance and managing key navigation points on site, the authorities ensured towing operations were more stable and safer

On July 29, under the safety assurance of the Guangzhou maritime authorities, the ultralarge foreignflagged vessel "Karlskrona" was successfully towed into the port and arrived at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Co., Ltd. for maintenance work. This towing operation was large in scale. The vessel is about 570 meters long and 66 meters wide, and it passed through several densely trafficked and complex navigational waters in Guangzhou Port, making maritime traffic organization and onsite escort highly challenging. To ensure operational safety, the Guangzhou maritime authorities carried out risk assessment in advance, worked with relevant units to formulate a special assurance plan, and dispatched the patrol vessel Haixun 09079 to provide onsite escort during the operation, directing vessels in real time and controlling key points along the waterway. In the end, the formation was safely escorted to the shipyard area.
