China Launches Two Satellites, Advancing the Star-Compute Constellation Network

The Star-Compute constellation is being built at an accelerated pace, and the Lijian-1 sent two smart satellites into orbit Empowering space computing, intelligent remote sensing, and weather forecasting, and promoting the implementation of satellite AI applications

On July 24, China used the Lijian1 Yao15 launch vehicle at the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Test Zone to send the Jitianxing A04 satellite and the Xiguang2 No. 03 satellite into their planned orbits, accelerating the construction of the ThreeBody Computing Constellation. The ThreeBody Computing Constellation was initiated by the Zhejiang Lab, with the goal of building a spacebased computing infrastructure at a scale of one thousand satellites. The two satellites launched this time are respectively aimed at intelligent computing and intelligent remote sensing applications, expanding the application scenarios of space AI in areas such as meteorological sensing and satellite intelligence. Among them, the Jitianxing A04 satellite is equipped with a selfdeveloped embodied intelligence satellite model, which can be used for intelligent management in areas such as satellite mission execution, data processing, and command distribution; the Xiguang2 No. 03 satellite has deployed a meteorological model, directly processing data in orbit and outputting lightweight forecast results, providing support for scenarios such as emergency management, shipping and aviation, and power grid disaster prevention.
