Tottenham, reports of completing the signing of Sandro Tonali
Tottenham's signing of Sandro Tonali, expectations rise for strengthening the midfield with £100 million Could this become the best signing since Son Heung-min? Check the BBC report and the terms of the agreement
British BBC reported that Tottenham Hotspur have signed Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali for around £100 million. Tottenham initially offered £80 million, but it was rejected, and it is reported that they later reached an agreement by offering £92.5 million plus an additional £7.5 million in addons.
After moving from AC Milan to Newcastle in 2023, Tonali received a 10month suspension for violating betting rules, and after his return, he established himself as a key player for Newcastle. Regarding the news of joining Tottenham, he said that he is looking forward to the new season.
Local media assessed that Tonali could become the biggest success story of Tottenham's recent transfer market and could potentially be their best signing since Son Heungmin. However, his position and role are different, and Tottenham appear to be aiming to strengthen their squad by reinforcing the midfield with a player who can contribute both offensively and defensively.
