LG Energy Solution ends patent dispute with China’s Sunwoda
LG Energy Solution patent dispute concluded with a license agreement with Sunwoda Ended the global conflict by withdrawing lawsuits in Germany, China, and Korea
LG Energy Solution has concluded its patent dispute with Chinese battery maker Sunwoda and signed a license agreement. In a joint press release on the 11th, the two companies said they would withdraw all legal actions underway in Germany, China, and South Korea.
With this agreement, the patent infringement lawsuit filed by LG Energy Solution and related disputes have effectively come to an end. Previously, a German court had ordered a ban on the sale of batteries related to Sunwoda, as well as their recall, disposal, and compensation for damages, and LG Energy Solution had also won a series of victories in European patent lawsuits.
The specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. LG Energy Solution explained that this agreement is a case that confirmed fair compensation for technological innovation.
