Saqqara archaeology: China-Egypt joint efforts leverage Chinese technology to advance the digital preservation of ancient Egyptian relics Witness new progress in mutual learning between civilizations, and see how cooperation between the two countries is giving millennia-old heritage new life

At the Saqqara Pyramid area in Egypt, ChineseEgyptian joint archaeological work is advancing. With the help of Chinese technological methods, millenniaold cultural relics are being better preserved and studied in digital form. Related work has also entered the attention of the two countries' heads of state. In November 2025, when President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to Egyptian President Sisi to mark the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, he mentioned that the ChineseEgyptian joint archaeological team was jointly exploring ancient Egyptian civilization beneath the Saqqara Pyramid, saying that the two ancient civilizations are moving toward each other in both directions, and that the peoples of the two countries are also becoming increasingly familiar and close. Taking the Saqqara archaeology as its starting point, this report showcases the achievements of exchanges between China and Egypt in cultural heritage protection, archaeological cooperation, and the application of technology, and also reflects the continuous progress of mutual learning between the two civilizations.
