First Lady Kim Hyekyung attended the 15th Korean Film Festival in Brazil, held in São Paulo, Brazil, and emphasized the significance of cultural exchange between Korea and Brazil together with First Lady Janja Lula da Silva of Brazil.
Mrs. Kim said that the festival has played a role in helping the people of both countries better understand each other's cultures and grow closer through Korean films, adding that film is an art that connects hearts beyond borders and language. She also stated that she hopes filmmakers from Korea and Brazil will grow and cooperate together.
Mrs. Janja also said that this event goes beyond a simple cultural gathering and serves as a place of friendship connecting the two countries. At the event, the Korean Academy of Film Arts and the University of São Paulo signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in film and video education and exchange, and attendees watched director Oh Jeongmin's film "Coming of Age" together.
