On the day of the June 3 nationwide local elections, a series of related reports were made around polling stations in the Gyeongnam area. The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency said that 19 electionrelated 112 calls had been received from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.
In front of a polling place in Jinryemyeon, Gimhae City, a drunken man in his 60s caused a disturbance, and the police issued a warning at the scene. The man returned home after casting his vote.
At polling places in Seongsangu, Changwon City, as well as in Jinju and Yangsan, issues over marking ballots, references to election fraud, complaints about ballots, and assaults also occurred. Some were subject to possible arrest in the act or review for criminal charges, and the types of reports were divided into election interference, assault, and simple inquiries.
