He Lifeng Holds Video Call with U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent and Trade Representative Greer

On the evening of April 30, He Lifeng, the Chinese lead representative for ChinaU.S. economic and trade affairs and Vice Premier of the State Council, held a video call with the U.S. lead representatives, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent and Trade Representative Greer. The two sides held candid, indepth, and constructive exchanges on implementing the important consensus reached at the Busan meeting between the two heads of state and in their previous phone calls, and on how to properly address each other’s economic and trade concerns and expand practical cooperation. The Chinese side also expressed grave concerns over the U.S. recent economic and trade restrictions targeting China. The two sides agreed to continue making use of the ChinaU.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, maintain communication, build consensus, manage differences, and promote the development of ChinaU.S. economic and trade relations in a healthy, stable, and sustainable direction.
