Actor Ji Changwook shared his thoughts on the various reactions that followed the release of the Netflix series ‘Scandal.’ He said that he took into account the comparisons to the character from the original work played by Bae Yongjoon, the high level of nudity, and the divided responses, but felt it was a project worth taking on.
Ji Changwook played Jowon, the best romantic player in Joseon, in ‘Scandal.’ He explained that the character’s emotions were not simple and had room for interpretation, and said that director Jeong Jiwoo’s directing style was also a new experience for him as an actor. During filming, he said he tried to portray the character’s wavering emotions more vividly by not looking at the monitor.
Regarding the mixed reception of the work, he admitted to some disappointment, but said that personally it was a choice he was not ashamed of. He also added that this project was a meaningful challenge in his filmography, and that he wants to continue taking on a variety of roles by moving between genre works and romantic pieces in the future.
