Fire at packaging material factory in Ansan upgraded to response level 2

A fire broke out on the night of the 7th at a packaging factory in Seonggokdong, Danwongu, Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, prompting the fire authorities to raise the response level to Level 2 and carry out firefighting operations. According to the fire authorities, the fire started at around 9:05 p.m. that day and was reported to be spreading to a nearby factory. Five minutes later, the fire department issued a Level 1 response, and at 9:48 p.m. it was raised to Level 2, deploying 35 pieces of equipment and 152 personnel. Ansan City sent a disaster alert advising nearby residents to close their windows and for vehicles to take detours onto surrounding roads. No casualties have been confirmed so far, and the fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once the flames are brought under control.
