Young People from Both Sides of the Strait Visit Quanzhou; the World Heritage City Connects Shared Minnan-Taiwan Memories

Recently, the themed event “Vibrant Blue Waves, Quanzhou and Taiwan CoCreating Together — Taiwan Youth Explore Quanzhou” came to a close in Quanzhou, Fujian. More than 50 young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait spent a day and a night visiting this World Heritage city, experiencing its local history, culture, and industrial development. During the event, the young people came to Luoyang Bridge and recited Yu Guangzhong’s “Luoyang Bridge” in unison. Many Taiwan participants said that Quanzhou’s bridges, seaside scenery, and everyday atmosphere felt familiar to them, evoking coastal memories similar to those in Taiwan. In addition to cultural visits, the itinerary also included stops at places such as the Baqi CrossStrait MicroShort Drama Industrial Park, the Strait Sculpture and Art Cultural Park, and Anta’s “982 Innovation Space” exhibition hall. Through onsite visits, the participants learned about new business formats such as “short dramas + cultural tourism,” the inheritance of traditional crafts, and the development of the private economy. Young people from Kinmen, meanwhile, believed that Kinmen could become an important hub for crossstrait exchanges.
