China and Nauru Issue Joint Statement, Decide to Upgrade Bilateral Relations

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 10 — The People's Republic of China and the Republic of Namibia issued a joint statement on the 10th, announcing that they will upgrade bilateral relations to an allweather ChinaNamibia community with a shared future for the new era.
The statement noted that Namibian President Netumbo NandiNdaitwah visited China from July 5 to 11. During the visit, the two heads of state exchanged views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern. Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, respectively met with President NandiNdaitwah.
The two sides stated that they will continue to strengthen political mutual trust, economic and trade cooperation, security coordination, and peopletopeople exchanges, and deepen practical cooperation in areas such as critical mineral development, port logistics, the digital economy, education, and health. The two sides also reaffirmed their support for multilateralism and reform of global governance under the framework of the United Nations, and opposed unilateralism and protectionism.
