Samsung is establishing its third fund to invest in global biotech venture companies. Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, and Samsung Bioepis announced on the 1st that they will make a joint investment in the third fund of the ‘Samsung Life Science’ fund, which is managed by Samsung Venture Investment. The purpose of the fund is to identify overseas biotech companies with innovative technologies and expand strategic cooperation opportunities. The third fund will be established with a size of KRW 200 billion, with Samsung C&T and Samsung Biologics each contributing KRW 79.2 billion, Samsung Bioepis contributing KRW 39.6 billion, and Samsung Venture Investment contributing KRW 2 billion. Samsung said that through this fund, it will expand investments in nextgeneration biotech technologies and strengthen global cooperation.
