Liaoning CPPCC Helps Build the “Blue Granary”
Liaoning’s Blue Granary is being upgraded and accelerated, building a new high-value growth driver for marine fisheries Extending the entire industrial chain and empowering brands, helping Maritime Liaoning unleash stronger momentum
The Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference recently held a remote consultation meeting focused on building a "blue granary," with emphasis on how to provide stronger support for "maritime Liaoning."
Representatives from the CPPCC, the scientific research sector, and local authorities offered suggestions on the upgrading path for marine fisheries, focusing on extending the industrial chain and building brands.
Participants believed that Liaoning's coastal cities have distinctive aquatic products such as sea cucumbers, jellyfish, and yellow clams. The next step should be to increase added value through deep processing and promote the development of highvalue sectors such as functional foods, biomedicine, and prepared aquatic products. At the same time, efforts should be made to strengthen the role of leading enterprises, promote the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, and improve an integrated system spanning breeding, aquaculture, processing, and sales.
Regarding full industrial chain development, some CPPCC organizations suggested promoting the integration of marine ranching with cultural tourism, ecommerce, and other business formats, and building the regional public brand of "Liaoning Blue Granary" through unified standards, quality specifications, and traceability systems. Representatives from the scientific research community proposed that fishery research and talent cultivation should be optimized according to the actual needs of enterprises, so that more technologies and training can directly serve frontline production.
