Li Qiang Meets with Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah

On the afternoon of July 9, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Namibian President Netumbo NandiNdaitwah, who was in China for a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Qiang said that Namibia is an important partner of China in Africa. In recent years, the relations between the two countries have continued to develop, and practical cooperation has kept achieving new progress. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen alignment with the Namibian side on development strategies, expand cooperation in trade and investment, and deepen collaboration in infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, new energy, and other areas, so as to promote mutual benefit and winwin outcomes. Li Qiang also noted that China hopes to further expand imports of highquality agricultural and fishery products from Namibia, support Chinese companies in investing in Namibia, and welcomes Namibia to make good use of the relevant policies of zero tariffs and streamlined customs clearance. The two sides can also strengthen exchanges and cooperation in tourism, health, education, science and technology, and youth, and maintain communication and coordination under multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, jointly upholding multilateralism and international cooperation. NandiNdaitwah said that the Namibian side attaches great importance to relations with China and is grateful for China's longterm assistance to Namibia's independence and development and construction. She said that the Namibian side firmly pursues the oneChina principle and hopes to continue expanding cooperation between the two countries in trade, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, transportation and logistics, medical and health care, and renewable energy, so as to promote more achievements in bilateral relations.
