On July 25, the 48th World Heritage Committee session of UNESCO was held in Busan, South Korea. The "Jingdezhen Handmade Porcelain Industry Heritage" nominated by China successfully passed the review and was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List. With this, the total number of China's World Heritage sites has increased to 61.
Ceramics are regarded as one of the important symbols of Chinese civilization and an important representative of Chinese culture. The report noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping has always attached great importance to the protection of cultural heritage, and has emphasized the need to protect, carry forward, and pass on the treasures of Chinese culture, so that the fine traditional Chinese culture can be handed down from generation to generation.
With the theme "Studying New Words," the report reviewed China's latest progress in world heritage protection and cultural inheritance, and highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in sustaining civilization and strengthening cultural identity.
