People Power Party says about rumors of Ha Jung-woo's return to the Blue House, “Withdraw the revolving-door appointment”
People Power Party criticizes consideration of Ha Jung-woo, vice chair of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee Points out controversy over revolving-door appointments and ignoring public sentiment... Demands immediate withdrawal
The People Power Party criticized the news on the 20th that Ha Jungwoo, former Senior Secretary for AI Future Planning at the Blue House, is being considered for a fulltime vice chair position on the Presidential Commission on the National AI Strategy, which is directly under the President.
In a statement, People Power Party Chief Spokesperson Park Sunghoon argued that trying to appoint someone who ran in the Busan Bukgap byelection but lost to another major public post again is a decision that ignores public sentiment. He pointed to this as a case of "revolving door appointments" and called for it to be withdrawn immediately.
Chief Spokesperson Park also noted that the Democratic Party had previously criticized personnel practices under other administrations, saying that this review appears to be more about taking care of close associates than about appointing talented people.
