Jilin has made new progress in the transformation of the “Two Mountains” concept

Jilin Ecological and Environmental Status Bulletin: The number of days with good air quality reached 92.8%, and water quality continued to improve See how Jilin turns blue skies and clear water into development advantages while encouraging public participation in low-carbon initiatives

Jilin released its 2025 Bulletin on Ecological and Environmental Conditions ahead of World Environment Day. The data show that the proportion of days with good air quality in cities at the prefecture level and above across the province reached 92.8%, water environmental quality continued to improve, and the ecological quality status has remained good for 22 consecutive years, reflecting the steady advancement of local ecological governance and phased achievements. The article points out that Jilin has adopted longterm, systematic governance measures in areas such as blue skies, clear waters, and ecological restoration, including industrial ultralowemission upgrades, watershedbased "one river, one policy" management, and coordinated law enforcement across multiple departments. The improvement in related indicators shows that ecological protection is steadily being transformed into a development advantage. At the same time, Jilin is also exploring ways to combine green behavior with public participation, such as the soontolaunch "Carbon Benefit Jilin" platform, which uses personal carbon accounts and a points mechanism to encourage more lowcarbon lifestyles. The article argues that Jilin's experience shows that ecological protection and highquality development can reinforce each other.
