Jang Dong-hyeok unusually defends Han Dong-hoon while criticizing the Democratic Party's move to expel him
Criticism of the move to expel Han Dong-hoon, Jang Dong-hyeok pushes back, calling it a “messenger attack” Check the essence of the Democratic Party disciplinary controversy and the background behind Representative Jang's response
People Power Party leader Jang Donghyeok criticized the Democratic Party’s plan to push for the expulsion of lawmaker Han Donghoon, calling it a "messenger attack." On the 13th, Jang posted on Facebook and argued that pressuring Han by saying he would be investigated and expelled is a way of obscuring the essence of the issue.
Earlier, the Democratic Party had announced that it would seek either the expulsion from the National Assembly or suspension of qualifications for independent lawmaker Han Donghoon and People Power Party lawmaker Lee Jinsook. It was reported that after Han released materials related to allegations involving Justice Minister nominee Kim Seungwon, the Democratic Party took issue with this and mentioned disciplinary action.
Jang said he had usually kept a political distance from Han, but this time he took a supportive stance, pointing out that the Democratic Party’s response was excessive. However, while maintaining his existing position regarding the allegations surrounding nominee Kim, he emphasized that the key issue lies elsewhere.
