LG Energy Solution signs patent license agreement with China’s Sunwoda

LG Energy Solution has concluded a longrunning patent infringement dispute by signing a patent license agreement with Chinese battery maker Sunwoda.
This agreement was made public on the 11th by Tulip Innovation, which represented LG Energy Solution in the patent licensing deal. Tulip Innovation said it would withdraw all related legal actions that had been underway in Germany, China, and Korea. However, according to an agreement between the two sides, the specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.
LG Energy Solution had pursued litigation for more than two years, claiming that Sunwoda had infringed multiple patents, and last year a German court issued a ruling partially in LG Energy Solution's favor. With this settlement, the legal actions LG Energy Solution had filed against automakers equipped with Sunwoda batteries are also expected to be withdrawn.
