President Lee Jaemyung accepted the resignation letter of Kim Yongbeom, Chief of Policy Office at the Blue House, on the 1st.
Kang Yoojung, the Blue House chief spokesperson, said that Kim had expressed his intention to resign the previous day and that the president accepted it.
Kim was appointed as Chief of Policy Office when President Lee took office in June last year and served for about 1 year and 2 months. He was recently excluded from the Cabinet reshuffle and staff appointments, but there has been growing criticism that he should take responsibility for policy failures, such as the singlestock leveraged exchangetraded fund (ETF) incident.
