At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference currently being held in Shanghai, a range of important initiatives and innovative achievements were announced in a concentrated manner, and cuttingedge technologies were also showcased simultaneously, demonstrating the latest progress in China's artificial intelligence sector.
During the conference, the National Development and Reform Commission, together with the China Media Group and other departments, released the "Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence Cooperative Development" and the case collection "China's Smart Tech Benefits the World (2026)," which cover areas such as highquality data supply, inclusive intelligent computing power, and AI for good, and also include multiple cases of China's international cooperation in artificial intelligence. At the same time, the "Global Action Plan for AI Ethics Governance" and the "Global Cooperation Initiative on Mutual Trust, Interconnection and Interoperability for Intelligent Agents" were also made public.
At the conference venue on July 18, multiple firstlaunch technologies were showcased in a concentrated manner, including original scientific research achievements such as intelligent agents used for protein design. The conference also held multiple subforums to exchange views on topics including global AI governance, embodied intelligence, and intelligent computing power, and for the first time established a highlevel international academic conference, "World Artificial Intelligence Conference · Academic," attracting participation from Turing Award laureates and further enhancing the conference's academic influence.
