According to a July 3 announcement from the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has filed a case to investigate and examine former firstlevel inspector of the Nanchuan District Government Zheng Yuanxue for serious violations of discipline and law. The notice said that Zheng Yuanxue engaged in resisting organizational review, unlawfully accepting travel arrangements that could affect the impartial performance of official duties, failing to report personal matters as required, illegally accepting gifts and money, engaging in profitmaking activities in violation of regulations, participating in moneyforsex transactions, and interfering in and meddling with the contracting and subcontracting of engineering projects. The Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision pointed out that Zheng Yuanxue also used his position to seek benefits for others in engineering contracts, land acquisition and demolition, and other areas, and illegally accepted huge sums of property, constituting serious violations of official duties and suspected of the crime of bribery. In accordance with relevant regulations, the relevant departments decided to expel him from the Communist Party of China, cancel his retirement benefits, confiscate his illicit gains from violations of discipline and law, and transfer the suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial organs for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
