Xinhua News Agency’s "Study in Progress" published an article on the eve of the International Labor Day on May 1, reviewing several onsite stories over the years in which General Secretary Xi Jinping has shown care and concern for workers, involving groups such as couriers, industrial workers, forest rangers, domestic workers, and migrant workers.
The article mentioned that during inspections in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangxi, Hebei, Ningxia, Shandong and other places, General Secretary Xi Jinping repeatedly inquired about workers’ jobs, income, and living conditions, and stressed that support and services for groups such as couriers, ridehailing drivers, and ecommerce workers must keep pace, while also repeatedly calling on society as a whole to care for and show concern to migrant workers.
The article also quoted important remarks by the General Secretary on labor, craftsmanship spirit, and the real economy, emphasizing that labor creates happiness and that the working class is an important force in building modernization, expressing respect and encouragement for workers in all walks of life.
