Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 4 — A symposium marking the 70th anniversary of the launch of China Media Group’s program "Xiao Labao" was held in Beijing on the same day. Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting, read out General Secretary Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter, and delivered a speech.
Representatives at the meeting said that General Secretary Xi Jinping has always cared about the healthy growth of children and has issued important instructions on the development of youth and children’s undertakings. They believed that this congratulatory letter reflects the CPC Central Committee’s emphasis on children and on youth and children’s literary and artistic work, and also provides important guidance for related work.
The meeting proposed that efforts should continue to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, give full play to the role of culture in nurturing people, carry forward China’s excellent traditional culture, tap red cultural resources, and combine new technologies such as artificial intelligence to create more highquality works suitable for children, so as to create a better environment for the growth of minors. More than 140 people attended the meeting, including officials from relevant central departments, leaders of China Media Group, as well as experts and scholars, program creators, and representatives of the audience.
