Li Qiang presides over the State Council executive meeting

Premier Li Qiang of the State Council chaired a State Council executive meeting on June 11, where research and arrangements were made on matters including audit rectification, scitech innovation, education development, ecological civilization construction, and revisions to the Road Traffic Safety Law. The meeting called for serious and effective rectification of problems identified in the 2025 central budget execution and other fiscal revenue and expenditure audits, with clear responsibility assignments and completion deadlines, strengthened crossdepartmental coordination, and the use of rectification to further standardize budget management and financial discipline. The meeting also heard a report on the implementation of the spirit of the National Science and Technology Conference, and proposed advancing the implementation of major national scitech tasks around the goal of making China a scitech powerhouse, enhancing basic research capabilities and the coordinated tackling of key problems by national strategic scitech forces, and accelerating the attainment of highlevel selfreliance and selfstrengthening in science and technology. At the same time, the meeting reviewed and approved the 15th FiveYear Plan for Education Development and the 15th FiveYear Plan for Building a Beautiful China, and deliberated and approved the draft amendment to the Road Traffic Safety Law, deciding to submit it to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for review.
